- Born September 23, 1946, in Twin Rocks, Pennsylvania, USA.
- Attended Big Bend Elementary School, Twin Rocks, Pennsylvania, grades
1 through 8 (there was no pre-school or kindergarten), from 1952 to
1960.
- Attended Blacklick Township High School, Twin Rocks, Pennsylvania,
from 1960 to 1964.
- Served in the U.S. Army in New Jersey, California, Virginia, and Berlin,
Germany, from June 1964 to May 1968.
- Attended Pennsylvania State University, University Park, Pennsylvania,
from September 1968 to June 1973; awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree
in Russian in 1971 (graduated with high distinction), and a Masters
of Arts degree in Russian and Slavic Languages in 1973.
- Retired from the Federal Government where he worked as a computer
hardware and software requirements specialist.
- Married to Carolyn Young on July 24, 1982 (second marriage for both
of us), and living in Napoleon, Ohio.
